Located in the mid-coast of Maine, the town is in the middle of the Boothbay peninsula in Lincoln County. Well known as a fishing village with a strong tourism economy, it also houses Washburn & Doughty and Hodgdon Yachts ship builders, as well as the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and Bigelow Laboratories.
