Philippians 2:25-30
The Maine* Idea: Let your manner of life as kingdom citizens show the worth of the Gospel, firmly united in love, and bravely holding forth the message of grace.
The Maine* Idea: Knowing our eternity is secure in Him, we can have joy that goes beyond circumstances! We because… We have confidence in God’s Plan (1:18b-20). We are convinced of Christ’s Preeminence (1:21-24). We are committed to God’s Program (1:25-26).
The Maine* Idea: God has a standard for every nation to live up to. We will all answer to Him.
The Maine* Idea: We can serve God joyfully, even when we are passing through hardships or opposition, because God has a plan, and we can trust Him.
The Maine* Idea: Our sure hope in Jesus allows us to have joy, independent of circumstances, to pray with confidence about the future, and to give thanks, even before we see the answers. And so, God wills us to be 1) relentlessly joyful (16), 2) persistently prayerful (17), and 3) consistently thankful (18).
The Maine* Idea: In the context of the Passion Week, the triumphal entry invites us to worship the Passover-King, the Lamb on the throne, and calls us to love Him, trust Him, and obey Him.
